Reiki Healing and Energy Work
I'm sure you have heard of energy healing, auras, grounding and chakras. My practice really focuses on this specific type of healing, the 'universal healing,' Reiki. This type of healing transcends language and cultural barriers because I like to tap into the spiritual energy source which has been present throughout all time and space. Through the use of hands and tapping into Source, we will work on unlocking those emotional wounds and work on letting yourself begin to heal and accept all of your emotions.
The practice of reiki usually begins with the practitioner setting an intention and centering themselves. They recognize they are interconnected with each person throughout the universe and begin by affirming this power and calling on their Source of power. Practicing Reiki healers also recognize that them and their clients each have within them light and love, and they visualize that connecting field of light and love between each other. The purpose is to share healing with all beings, and each person is able to give and receive light, love and healing from another. Reiki healers facilitate the healing process through the use of their hands, by actively placing the open palm of their hand on a client's source of energy (individual and specific to a body part like arm, heart, back, head). It's a restorative treatment you have to experience to really get the full concept and effect of. Feel free to watch Youtube videos on what to expect in session, or come with your own openmindedness ready to let yourself be revived through this curative practice.
The purpose of reiki healing is to help another person release trapped emotions, damaging energy, and generational issues passed down to us, and limiting beliefs. We may discuss these limiting beliefs before the Reiki session so that you will be able to know what exactly you are releasing.
What Are Limiting Beliefs?
A belief of something you belief to be true, which limits you in some way, usually negatively. Everyone carries a set of limiting beliefs around with them. For example: "There is something wrong with me," or "I will never be good enough." These limiting beliefs lead us to act or behave in ways which can be detrimental to our relationships and ourselves. They are also usually attached to a specific - painful - emotion. Some emotions which may be painful to handle are: fear, sadness, loneliness, or anger.
If we want to come full circle here is an example: Sam has a hard time being in relationships and is agorophobic. He doesn't like being lonely and holed up in his house so he comes to you for therapy. Through therapeutic work, he recognizes that his limiting belief is that "there is something wrong with me." When pushed to discover where the belief came from, he remembers his uncle always affirming to him that there was something wrong with him. When he pushed back and said he was perfectly fine, his uncle would leave him. Sam was lonely and did not like this feeling. So in order to keep his loved ones in his life and not experience the lonely feeling, there HAD to be something 'wrong' with him. This avoidance of this limiting belief led him to sabotage his relationships with his lovers and he ended up lonely anyway, the very feeling he was trying to avoid all these years.
